Introduction
Introduction
Yard is a platform for publishing and selling software projects. You upload releases. We handle checkout, licensing, payouts, and the tax paperwork that comes with being a merchant of record.
These docs are split into four parts. Platform, the section you're reading, covers the project itself: getting started with the CLI, projects and pricing, the storefront, services, databases, sandboxes, the Library your users download from, and payments. The other three cover everything you'd build around it.
Guides
Step-by-step walkthroughs for common tasks. Validate license keys in your app, sync releases from GitHub, ship updates to a desktop app, and publish a landing page with an AI agent.
ExploreREST API
Authenticate with an API key and call Yard directly. Endpoints for projects, releases, channels, sandboxes, services, users, transactions, coupons, licenses, subscriptions, and updates, most with a live playground.
ExploreWebhooks
Get notified the moment something happens in your account. Sales, refunds, trials, and subscription changes arrive as signed, verifiable payloads.

Install the Yard CLI first. It's the fastest way to create a project and ship your first release. If you work with an AI agent, add the Yard SKILL.md so it knows how to drive the CLI for you.
